Summary

Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, is a central character in DC Comics' New 52 continuity. He is the half-human, half-Atlantean King of Atlantis, struggling to bridge the gap between his surface and underwater realms. With a deep sense of duty to both lands, Arthur grapples with maintaining peace and leading Atlantis, all while bearing the weight of the Aquaman mantle. Aquaman's hybrid physiology gives him superhuman strength, endurance, durability, and reflexes. He also has the ability to telepathically communicate with marine life and breathe underwater. His most notable weapon is the Trident of Neptune, a powerful artifact that can control water and emit energy blasts. Aquaman has a series of significant relationships with allies and enemies alike. His most notable ally and love interest is Mera, the princess of the underwater city of Xebel, who also shares many of his abilities. Aquaman's relationship with the surface world and its heroes is complex. He is a member of the Justice League, yet often deals with skepticism and mockery due to misconceptions about his powers. His key enemies include Black Manta, his personal nemesis, and Ocean Master, his half-brother and rival for the throne of Atlantis. In the New 52 continuity, Aquaman's story sees him trying to prove himself to the surface world while also dealing with the political machinations and conflicts of Atlantis. The "Throne of Atlantis" storyline is a significant arc where the tensions between the surface and Atlantis reach a boiling point, leading to a major conflict involving the Justice League. Throughout his journey, Aquaman is constantly battling to reconcile his dual heritage and bring unity to his divided world.

• Brawls Manta in a city, crushing cars in their battle.

• Automatic gunfire does nothing to his armor, and a bullet hitting his head just causes him to bleed a little.
• Some of the trench monsters break their teeth trying to bite him.
• Tanks getting shot by Atlantean guns without issue, only pierced later by an Atlantean ship exploding and lodging Atlantean metal into his leg.
• Assault rifle shots do nothing to him.
• Bullets continue to bounce off him from multiple gunners.
• Even without his scale armor, bullets just bounce off him.
• Tanks being stabbed by Black Manta's electric blades.

Energy

• Tanks being blasted by Black Manta's eye beam.

Explosive

• Tanks getting caught in a blast that blows a metal door off its hinges, then taking a blast of the Atlantean VTOL he jumps into exploding.

Poisons

• The venom in the bile and fluids of the trench monsters causes paralysis in people, but Aquaman was unaffected.
• Unaffected by the toxins in the water that are causing Mera to struggle to see.

• Brawls Manta fairly evenly.
• Dodges an attack from Black Manta with the Dead King Scepter.
• Jumps out of the water and snatches the Dead King Scepter from Manta.
• Dodges an eye beam from Manta.

• Blocks a gunshot by hand.

• Jumps from the ocean to the inner city.

Misc:

Telepathy

• Commands large sharks to eat some Parademons.
• Can mentally scan for sea life, scanning a dock to find that nothing is there.
• Commands some bioluminescent fish to guide him and Mera while deep underwater.
• Arthur and Ya'Wara have a constant telepathic connection.
